Submitting Documents to Dext by Email and Upload
This is part of our Capturing Documents series (Chapter 2 of the Dext tutorial hub):
- Lesson 1: Snapping Receipts with the Dext Mobile App
- Lesson 2: Submitting Documents to Dext by Email and Upload
- Lesson 3: Auto-Fetching Invoices with Dext Fetch
- Lesson 4: Bulk Uploading Receipts of All Sizes to Dext
The mobile app is not the only way to get documents into Dext, which helps when a bill lands in your inbox rather than your hand.
1. Emailing documents in
Every Dext account has a unique email address, so you can forward supplier invoices straight in, or set up automatic forwarding rules.
2. Submitting via WhatsApp
Dext also supports submitting documents through WhatsApp, useful if that is how a supplier already sends you an invoice.
3. Drag and drop uploading
For batches of documents on your computer, dragging them straight into the Dext web portal is often the fastest option.
4. Choosing the right method for the moment
Use whichever method is quickest for how the document actually arrived, rather than forcing everything through one channel.
Dext’s Help Centre has guides for each submission method: watch the official Dext tutorial. Our offsite bookkeeping team can help set up email forwarding rules for you.
We'll only use it to follow up on your feedback \u2014 never for anything else.
