Snapping Receipts with the Dext Mobile App
This is part of our Capturing Documents series (Chapter 2 of the Dext tutorial hub):
- Lesson 1: Snapping Receipts with the Dext Mobile App
- Lesson 2: Submitting Documents to Dext by Email and Upload
- Lesson 3: Auto-Fetching Invoices with Dext Fetch
- Lesson 4: Bulk Uploading Receipts of All Sizes to Dext
The Dext mobile app is built for capturing receipts the moment you get them, rather than saving them for later.
1. Downloading the app
Available free on iOS and Android, and syncs directly with your existing Dext account.
2. Taking a photo of a receipt
Open the app, snap a photo, and Dext extracts the supplier, amount and date automatically.
3. Checking the extracted details
Give it a quick check before it moves further into the workflow, since extraction is not always perfect on a crumpled receipt.
4. Making it a habit on site
Capturing receipts as you get them, rather than at the end of the week, means nothing gets lost in the meantime.
Dext’s official YouTube channel has a mobile app walkthrough: watch the official Dext tutorial. Our tradie bookkeeping service can help you build this into your daily routine.
We'll only use it to follow up on your feedback \u2014 never for anything else.
