Finding Receipts Fast in Dext at BAS or Audit Time
This is part of our Storage, Compliance and Practice Workflows series (Chapter 5 of the Dext tutorial hub):
- Lesson 1: Using the Dext Vault for ATO Record Keeping
- Lesson 2: Finding Receipts Fast in Dext at BAS or Audit Time
- Lesson 3: Multi-User Access in Dext for Your Bookkeeper
If the ATO ever asks a question about a specific transaction, being able to pull up the original document quickly makes the whole process far less stressful.
1. Searching by supplier
Filter by supplier name to quickly pull up every document related to a particular business you deal with.
2. Searching by date or amount
If you remember roughly when or how much something was, searching by date range or amount narrows things down fast.
3. Adding notes for context
Adding a brief note to an unusual transaction while it is fresh in your memory makes it much easier to explain months later.
4. Exporting documents when asked
Documents can be exported directly from Dext if you need to provide them to your BAS agent or in response to an ATO request.
Dext’s Help Centre covers search and export features: watch the official Dext tutorial. Our registered BAS agents can help pull together records quickly if the ATO ever asks.
We'll only use it to follow up on your feedback \u2014 never for anything else.
