Adding an employee correctly the first time saves a lot of correction work later, especially with the detail STP Phase 2 requires.

1. Enter their basic details

Name, address, date of birth and bank account details for pay go in first.

2. Assign ATO reporting categories

Each pay item needs to be mapped to the correct ATO reporting category, covering things like ordinary earnings, overtime, and allowances separately.

3. Setting tax and super details

Add their tax file declaration details and nominated super fund correctly from the start.

4. Setting up leave entitlements

Configure annual and personal leave accruals to match their employment type and hours.
