Multi-User Access in Dext for Your Bookkeeper

This is part of our Storage, Compliance and Practice Workflows series (Chapter 5 of the Dext tutorial hub):

  • Lesson 1: Using the Dext Vault for ATO Record Keeping
  • Lesson 2: Finding Receipts Fast in Dext at BAS or Audit Time
  • Lesson 3: Multi-User Access in Dext for Your Bookkeeper

If you work with a bookkeeper or registered BAS agent, giving them the right access in Dext keeps everything running smoothly without sharing your own login.

1. Inviting a user

From your Dext account settings, invite your bookkeeper or BAS agent by email to give them their own access.

2. Setting the right permission level

Access can usually be limited to specific functions, such as reviewing and coding, without full account administration rights.

3. Submitting documents on someone’s behalf

A bookkeeper can submit and code documents for a client without needing separate logins for every system involved.

4. Reviewing access periodically

It is worth checking who has access every so often, particularly if you change bookkeepers or add new staff.

Dext’s official YouTube channel covers multi-user setup: help.dext.com. If you would like our registered BAS agents added to your Dext account, we can talk you through the right access level.
