QuickBooks can lodge your Activity Statement directly with the ATO through its Standard Business Reporting connection.

1. Finding your BAS report

Under Taxes, QuickBooks builds your Activity Statement automatically from how you have coded transactions through the period.

2. Review every figure, not just the total

Check GST on sales, GST on purchases and PAYG withholding individually before finalising.

3. Making sure everything is reconciled first

A BAS built from unreconciled transactions will be wrong, so complete your bank reconciliation beforehand.

4. Lodging via the ATO connection

Once reviewed, QuickBooks can lodge directly through its connection to the ATO’s reporting system.

QuickBooks Australia’s YouTube channel covers BAS lodgement: watch the official QuickBooks tutorial. Our registered BAS agents handle this lodgement for our clients as standard.
