Connecting Your Bank Feed to QuickBooks

This is part of our Banking, Receipts and Reconciliation series (Chapter 3 of the QuickBooks tutorial hub):

  • Lesson 1: Connecting Your Bank Feed to QuickBooks
  • Lesson 2: Categorising and Reconciling Transactions in QuickBooks
  • Lesson 3: Using Receipt Snap in QuickBooks to Capture Receipts
  • Lesson 4: Emailing Receipts and Bills into QuickBooks

A connected bank feed is what makes QuickBooks actually save you time on data entry.

1. Finding bank connections

Under Banking, search for your bank and start the connection process.

2. Authorising the connection

You will be taken through your bank’s own login process to authorise QuickBooks to receive transaction data.

3. Waiting for transactions to flow in

Once connected, transactions usually start appearing within a day or two.

4. If your bank is not supported

You can usually import a statement file manually as a fallback if a direct feed is not available.

QuickBooks Australia’s official YouTube channel covers connecting bank feeds: watch the official QuickBooks tutorial. Our offsite bookkeeping team can help troubleshoot if your feed will not connect.
