Navigating the QuickBooks Dashboard and Mobile App

This is part of our Getting Started with QuickBooks Online series (Chapter 1 of the QuickBooks tutorial hub):

  • Lesson 1: Choosing the Right QuickBooks Online Plan
  • Lesson 2: Setting Up Your QuickBooks Company File
  • Lesson 3: Building Your Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks
  • Lesson 4: Navigating the QuickBooks Dashboard and Mobile App
  • Lesson 5: Adding Customers and Products in QuickBooks

Your QuickBooks dashboard is the first thing you see when you log in, and the mobile app puts the same information in your pocket.

1. What is on the dashboard by default

Typically shows bank balances, money owed to you, bills you owe, and a simple profit snapshot.

2. Customising what you see

You can adjust which panels appear so the numbers you check most often sit at the top.

3. Using the mobile app on the go

The app lets you check your bank balance, send invoices and snap receipts, all from your phone.

4. Checking in regularly

A quick look each week, rather than only at BAS time, helps you catch anything unusual early.

QuickBooks Australia’s official YouTube channel has dashboard and app walkthroughs: watch the official QuickBooks tutorial. Our remote bookkeeping team can help make sense of what you are seeing.
