Connecting Job Management Apps to Xero via the App Store
This is part of our Reports, Users and Add-ons series (Chapter 7 of the Xero tutorial hub):
- Lesson 1: Key Reports Every Xero User Should Check Regularly
- Lesson 2: Using Tracking Categories in Xero for Job Level Reporting
- Lesson 3: Adding Users and Setting Permissions in Xero Safely
- Lesson 4: Connecting Job Management Apps to Xero via the App Store
If you are running job quotes, scheduling and invoicing through a separate app, connecting it to Xero avoids double handling the same data twice.
1. What the Xero App Store offers
Xero connects with hundreds of third party apps, including job management tools built specifically for trades, like Tradify, ServiceM8 and simPRO.
2. How the connection typically works
Once connected, invoices raised in your job management app can flow straight through into Xero, without needing to re-enter them.
3. Choosing the right app for your trade
Different apps suit different trades and team sizes, so it is worth trialling one before committing to a long term subscription.
4. Keeping your chart of accounts consistent
When connecting a new app, check how it maps to your chart of accounts so job costs land in the right categories, not just a generic catch-all.
Xero’s official YouTube channel has App Store integration walkthroughs: youtube.com/@xero. Our tradie bookkeeping service can help make sure your job app and Xero stay in sync properly.
We'll only use it to follow up on your feedback \u2014 never for anything else.
