Setting Up Automated Payment Reminders in MYOB

This is part of our Sales, Invoicing and Getting Paid series (Chapter 2 of the MYOB tutorial hub):

  • Lesson 1: Creating and Sending Professional Invoices in MYOB
  • Lesson 2: Setting Up Automated Payment Reminders in MYOB
  • Lesson 3: Accepting Online Payments and Tap to Pay in MYOB
  • Lesson 4: Using Quotes and Recurring Invoices in MYOB

Automated reminders take the awkwardness out of chasing late payers, and MYOB makes this simple to set up.

1. Find the reminder settings

Under invoice or sales settings, there is an option to turn on automated payment reminders.

2. Set your reminder schedule

Choose to send reminders before the due date, on the day, and if overdue, without having to remember to chase manually.

3. Customise the wording

Keep early reminders friendly and firm up the tone the longer something sits overdue.

4. Check your aged receivables regularly

Automated reminders handle routine follow-up, but it is still worth glancing at what is overdue every week or two.

MYOB Academy covers payment reminders: watch the official MYOB tutorial. If overdue invoices are a regular problem, our tradie bookkeeping service can help tighten up the whole cycle.
