Entering and Tracking Supplier Bills in MYOB

This is part of our Bills, Expenses and Contractors series (Chapter 4 of the MYOB tutorial hub):

  • Lesson 1: Entering and Tracking Supplier Bills in MYOB
  • Lesson 2: Capturing Receipts with MYOB Assist and the Mobile App
  • Lesson 3: Setting Up Reportable Contractors for TPAR in MYOB
  • Lesson 4: Producing and Lodging Your TPAR in MYOB

Keeping on top of what you owe suppliers matters just as much as tracking what clients owe you.

1. Enter a bill as it arrives

Under the Purchases section, enter a new bill with the supplier, amount and due date.

2. Scheduling when it gets paid

Setting the due date gives you a clear view of upcoming payments rather than discovering them when a supplier follows up.

3. Paying several bills at once

MYOB lets you select multiple bills to pay together, saving time compared to processing them one at a time.

4. Reviewing what is coming up

Your unpaid bills list doubles as an early warning for upcoming cash flow pressure, worth checking alongside your bank balance each week.

MYOB Academy covers managing bills: watch the official MYOB tutorial. Our tradie bookkeeping service can help build a simple weekly routine around this.
