Running a business is hard enough without the ATO catching you off guard, especially when a surprise deadline means losing another weekend to sorting it out instead of spending it with the family. The good news is that every date this year is already known, nothing on this list needs to be a scramble, so long as someone’s actually keeping track of it.

The big change this year is Payday Super. Since 1 July 2026, super gets paid alongside every pay run rather than once a quarter, and it needs to reach your employees’ funds within seven business days of payday. If your payroll is still set up for the old quarterly rhythm, whether it’s just you or a small crew on the books, that’s worth checking sooner rather than later.
Your quarterly BAS still follows the familiar pattern. Four dates a year, one per quarter, due on the 28th of the month following each quarter’s end, except for the December quarter, which gets pushed out to the end of February to account for the Christmas break.
A Registered BAS Agent buys you real breathing room. When your BAS is lodged electronically through a registered agent, three of your four quarters shift back by around four weeks. That’s not about lodging late, it’s the difference between scrambling to find the GST the week it’s due and having it already set aside because someone else has been keeping an eye on it for you.
A few other dates are easy to forget entirely because they only come around once a year: Single Touch Payroll finalisation in mid-July, the Taxable Payments Annual Report in late August if you’re in building, cleaning, or a handful of other industries, and the Fringe Benefits Tax year ending in March.
We’ve put together the full quarter-by-quarter and month-by-month breakdown, with downloadable calendar files you can import straight into your phone, in our 2026-27 financial calendar. Have a look, add the dates once, and stop thinking about it for the rest of the year.
Or, if you’d rather someone else carried these dates for you entirely, so your weekends stay your weekends, get in touch and we’ll take it from here.
We'll only use it to follow up on your feedback \u2014 never for anything else.
