Chasing late payers by phone or email eats into evenings you would rather not spend on admin. Automated reminders take that off your plate.
1. Find the invoice reminders setting
Under invoice settings, there is an option to turn on automated payment reminders.
2. Set your reminder schedule
You can choose to send a reminder a few days before the due date, on the due date, and again if it becomes overdue, without lifting a finger each time.
3. Customise the wording
Keep the tone friendly rather than harsh for the first reminder, and firmer for anything well overdue. Xero lets you edit the default wording to match how you would actually say it.
4. Still check in manually now and then
Automated reminders handle the routine chasing, but it is worth glancing at your aged receivables report every week or two to catch anything reminders alone will not fix.

We'll only use it to follow up on your feedback \u2014 never for anything else.
